Welcome to Kreosus!

Summary: This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have. If you use Kreosus, this policy applies.

Kreosus is a sustainable crowdfunding platform that brings content Creators together with their audience who are willing to support their work. Privacy matters because trust matters. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal data when you use Kreosus.

Kreosus is operated by TREE OF EVOLUTION LLC. Our address is 1733 County Road 123, Gainesville, Texas, USA 76240. You can contact us at [email protected].

This Privacy Policy is part of our Terms of Service. By using Kreosus, you agree to both the Terms and this Privacy Policy.

Information You Share with Us

Summary: You choose what information to provide, but some basics are required to run an account and to process payments and payouts.

This section covers information you provide directly through Kreosus, for example by filling out forms, uploading Content, or messaging other users. What we collect depends on how you use Kreosus (for example, Supporter only vs Creator).

Examples include:

  • Account information: your name, email address, and login credentials (we do not store your password in plain text).
  • Profile information: your bio, profile photo, social links, display name, location (if you choose to provide it), and other optional details.
  • Communications: messages you send through Kreosus and information you include in support tickets or emails to us.
  • Support activity: which Creators you support, support amounts, support type (one-time or recurring), and timestamps of those actions.
  • Creator information: creator page details, membership tiers, goals, rewards/benefits descriptions, and other information you publish.
  • Payout and tax information (Creators): details needed to pay you and to meet legal and tax obligations.

Please avoid sharing sensitive personal data in public areas of Kreosus. If you post something publicly, it may be viewed and copied by others.

All Accounts

Summary: To create a Kreosus account, we need a few basics. You can add optional profile details, and you can also sign up using certain third-party login providers.

To open an account on Kreosus, we generally require:

  • Your full name (or a verified legal name where required),
  • Your email address,
  • A password (stored in hashed form),
  • Confirmation that you meet our age rules in our Terms of Service.

You may also be able to register or sign in using third-party login providers (for example Google, Facebook, X, or LinkedIn). If you choose that option, we receive the information that provider shares with us based on your settings and permissions. This usually includes your name, email address, and an account identifier, and it may include a profile photo. You can unlink a third-party login from Kreosus in your account settings (or by changing settings with that provider).

After you create an account, you may add additional optional profile information such as a bio, social media links, and a profile picture. We store the information you provide in our databases so we can provide the Service to you.

Supporters

Summary: If you support a Creator, your payment information is handled by our payment processors. Kreosus does not store full card numbers. We store pledge and transaction details so the Service works.

On Kreosus, a Supporter is a user who financially supports a Creator. You can create a Kreosus account without making a payment.

If you choose to support a Creator, your payment is processed by third-party payment processors and financial partners. When you enter payment details (for example card number, expiration date, and security code), those details are collected and processed by the payment processor, not stored on Kreosus servers as full card data.

For security and recordkeeping, we typically receive and store limited payment-related information such as:

  • a transaction identifier,
  • a token or reference that represents the payment method,
  • the card brand and the last 4 digits (where applicable),
  • billing name and email address (where provided),
  • the amount, currency, tax (if any), status, and timestamps of the payment.

We also store information about which Creator(s) you supported, your support level/tier (if applicable), whether the support is one-time or recurring, and the start and end dates of your support.

If you request a refund, file a dispute, or initiate a chargeback, we may share relevant transaction details and communication records with payment processors, banks, and dispute-resolution networks as needed to respond and to protect the Service from fraud.

Content Creators (Creators)

Summary: Creators publish a public page and may need to provide additional identity, payout, and tax information so we can pay them and meet legal requirements.

Creators are users who create a Creator profile to collect support. When you create a Creator profile, you may provide:

  • Creator page information: profile photo, category, goals, tier descriptions, benefits, FAQs, and the reasons people might support you.
  • Contact and social links: social media handles and other links you choose to show.
  • Content you publish: posts, files, updates, and other Creator Content.

Kreosus may also provide a creator Support Module that can be embedded on external websites. If you choose to use it, you provide information used by the module (for example a title, description, and an FAQ link). The module may use cookies or similar technologies to function properly.

To receive payouts, Creators must provide payout and tax-related information. Depending on your location and payout method, this may include:

  • Legal name,
  • Address and country of residence,
  • Date of birth (where required),
  • Bank account or payout account details (for example IBAN or other local equivalents),
  • Tax information needed for compliance and reporting (for example information typically used to complete forms such as W-9, W-8BEN, or W-8BEN-E).

We or our payment partners may also request verification information (such as a government-issued ID or business registration documents) where required for payouts, fraud prevention, or compliance.

Information We Collect

Summary: Like most online services, we collect technical and usage data to keep Kreosus working, improve it, and prevent fraud.

When you use Kreosus, we automatically collect certain technical and usage information, which may include:

  • device type, operating system, and browser type,
  • IP address and approximate location (typically at the city and country level),
  • device identifiers and cookie identifiers (where available),
  • log data (pages viewed, features used, links clicked, timestamps, and error logs),
  • referring and exit pages (for example, what website you came from),
  • search queries and interactions within the Service.

We use this information to operate the Service, improve performance, debug issues, and protect Kreosus and its users from abuse and fraud.

Do Not Track

Summary: We do not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. There is no consistent industry standard for how to interpret DNT signals. Because of that, Kreosus does not currently respond to DNT signals.

Third-party analytics providers may still collect information about your activity on Kreosus through cookies and similar technologies, and they may combine it with information collected over time or across other websites, depending on their own policies and your browser settings.

Cookies

Summary: We use cookies to keep you logged in, keep the Service secure, and understand how people use Kreosus. You can control cookies in your browser, but some features may break.

Cookies are small text files placed on your device. Kreosus uses cookies and similar technologies for several reasons:

  • Strictly necessary: to enable core site features (like login sessions, security, and load balancing).
  • Preferences: to remember settings where available.
  • Analytics: to understand usage and improve Kreosus.

We use a first-party cookie that helps us recognize your session and account. We may also use third-party analytics tools that set their own cookies. Currently, we may use services such as Google Analytics.

If you would like to opt out of Google Analytics tracking, you can use the Google Analytics Opt-Out browser add-on by clicking here.

You can usually remove or block cookies through your browser settings. If you block cookies, some parts of Kreosus may not function properly.

How Do We Use Your Information?

Summary: We use your data to run Kreosus, process payments and payouts, communicate with you, improve the platform, and prevent fraud. We do not sell your personal information.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We use your information for purposes such as:

  • Providing and maintaining Kreosus (account creation, login, and core features),
  • Processing support payments and handling refunds, disputes, and chargebacks,
  • Sending payouts to Creators and supporting tax and compliance obligations,
  • Enabling communication between Creators and Supporters inside Kreosus,
  • Sending service messages (receipts, security alerts, policy updates, and important account notices),
  • Responding to your questions and support requests,
  • Understanding how Kreosus is used so we can improve performance, usability, and features,
  • Developing tools that help Creators and Supporters interact,
  • Detecting, preventing, and investigating fraud, abuse, harassment, and security incidents,
  • Complying with legal obligations and enforcing our Terms.
Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar regions)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or another region with similar laws, we process personal data under one or more legal bases, including: performing a contract (providing the Service), legitimate interests (security and product improvement), consent (where required, such as certain marketing or cookie use), and compliance with legal obligations.

Marketing

We may send you updates about Kreosus features or occasional promotional emails. Where required by law, we will ask for consent. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us.

Information We Share with Creators

Summary: If you support a Creator, that Creator can see some information about you so they can manage their community and deliver benefits. Creators never receive your full payment card details from Kreosus.

If you are a Supporter, we share certain information with the Creator(s) you support so they can run their Creator page. This may include:

  • Your name and basic profile information,
  • Your email address (for Creator communications related to your support),
  • Messages you send to that Creator through Kreosus,
  • Information about your support (tier/level, one-time vs recurring, start date, and current status),
  • Limited aggregated or anonymized insights (for example, Creator analytics that are not meant to identify you).

We do not share your full payment card number or security code with Creators.

Important: Creators are independent parties. Once a Creator receives your information, their own privacy practices apply to how they use and store it. You should only support Creators you trust. If a Creator offers physical rewards and you choose to provide a shipping address or other delivery details, that information will be shared with the Creator so they can fulfill the reward.

Information We Share with Third Parties

Summary: We share data with service providers that help Kreosus run (payments, hosting, analytics, support) and when required by law, safety, or a business transaction. We try to keep sharing limited and contractual.

Personally Identifiable Information (PII) generally means information that can identify you, such as your name, email address, or address. We share PII only in limited cases, including:

  • Service providers: companies we hire to help operate Kreosus (for example payment processing, payouts, identity verification, cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics, customer support tools, and fraud prevention). These providers are required by contract to protect your data and use it only to provide services to us.
  • Legal and safety reasons: if we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect rights and safety, investigate fraud, or enforce our Terms. Where allowed, we will attempt to notify you about such requests.
  • Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets. If your PII is transferred, we will provide notice and explain any meaningful changes.

We may also share non-identifying or aggregated information (for example usage statistics) that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

Information We Share Publicly

Summary: Some information is public by design (like Creator pages). You control certain profile fields and certain visibility options.

Some information on Kreosus may be visible to the public (anyone on the internet), depending on how you use the Service and your settings. This may include:

  • Your public profile information (display name, profile picture, bio, and social links) if you choose to make them public,
  • Creator profile pages and Creator posts that are set to public,
  • Information about which Creators you support if you choose to display that publicly (you may have the option to keep support private or anonymous),
  • Aggregated or anonymized analytics about Kreosus usage.

Please remember that public information can be indexed by search engines and copied by others.

Your Preferences and Your Rights About Your Data

Summary: You can edit your account details, control certain visibility and email settings, and request access, deletion, or correction where the law allows.
Choosing preferences

Kreosus is built around public Creator pages, but you still have choices. Depending on the features available, you may be able to:

  • edit your profile information,
  • control whether certain profile fields are public,
  • choose whether your support of Creators is shown publicly or kept private (where this option is available),
  • control notification and marketing email preferences.
Using your data rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can request help by contacting us at [email protected].

If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also have the right to withdraw consent (where we rely on consent), and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you are a California resident, you may have rights under California privacy laws (including the right to know, delete, and correct certain personal information). We do not sell your personal information. If we ever introduce functionality that would be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under applicable law, we will update this policy and provide required choices.

Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. In practice, we may retain certain information (especially transaction, payout, and compliance records) for up to 10 years after account closure to meet legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution obligations. We may retain some information longer if required by law, or shorter where appropriate.

International Data Transfer

Summary: Kreosus is based in the United States, so your data may be processed in the US and other countries. We use safeguards when required by law.
Data transfer to the United States and other countries

Kreosus is operated by TREE OF EVOLUTION LLC and is based in the United States. If you use Kreosus, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate.

When laws like the GDPR apply, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers where required, which may include Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

Commercial activity

We may use your information to communicate about products, services, and features that may interest you. Where required by law (for example in parts of the EEA/UK), we will ask for consent for certain marketing and cookie-related processing. You can refuse or withdraw consent without being charged a fee for doing so. Some core Service features still require certain essential processing (for example account login and payment processing).

Security

Summary: We use reasonable safeguards to protect your data, but no system can promise perfect security.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures may include access controls, monitoring, and encryption in transit where appropriate. We do not store full payment card numbers on our own servers.

Even with safeguards, no online service can guarantee 100% security. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at [email protected].

Children

Summary: Kreosus is not for children under 15. If we learn we collected data from a child under 15, we will take steps to delete it.

Kreosus is not designed for children. You must be at least 15 years old to create an account. If you are 15 to 17 years old, paid features require parent or guardian permission as described in our Terms of Service.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 15. If you believe a child under 15 has provided personal data to us, please contact us at [email protected] so we can take appropriate action.

Changes

Summary: We may update this policy. If the changes are important, we will notify you before they take effect.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes we consider material, we will provide notice (for example by email or within the Service) before the updated policy takes effect.

By continuing to use Kreosus after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective, you agree to the updated policy.

If you have questions, contact us at [email protected].
