Kreosus is a sustainable crowdfunding platform that brings content Creators together with their audience who are willing to support their work. Privacy matters because trust matters. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal data when you use Kreosus.
Kreosus is operated by TREE OF EVOLUTION LLC. Our address is 1733 County Road 123, Gainesville, Texas, USA 76240. You can contact us at [email protected].
This Privacy Policy is part of our Terms of Service. By using Kreosus, you agree to both the Terms and this Privacy Policy.
This section covers information you provide directly through Kreosus, for example by filling out forms, uploading Content, or messaging other users. What we collect depends on how you use Kreosus (for example, Supporter only vs Creator).
Examples include:
Please avoid sharing sensitive personal data in public areas of Kreosus. If you post something publicly, it may be viewed and copied by others.
To open an account on Kreosus, we generally require:
You may also be able to register or sign in using third-party login providers (for example Google, Facebook, X, or LinkedIn). If you choose that option, we receive the information that provider shares with us based on your settings and permissions. This usually includes your name, email address, and an account identifier, and it may include a profile photo. You can unlink a third-party login from Kreosus in your account settings (or by changing settings with that provider).
After you create an account, you may add additional optional profile information such as a bio, social media links, and a profile picture. We store the information you provide in our databases so we can provide the Service to you.
On Kreosus, a Supporter is a user who financially supports a Creator. You can create a Kreosus account without making a payment.
If you choose to support a Creator, your payment is processed by third-party payment processors and financial partners. When you enter payment details (for example card number, expiration date, and security code), those details are collected and processed by the payment processor, not stored on Kreosus servers as full card data.
For security and recordkeeping, we typically receive and store limited payment-related information such as:
We also store information about which Creator(s) you supported, your support level/tier (if applicable), whether the support is one-time or recurring, and the start and end dates of your support.
If you request a refund, file a dispute, or initiate a chargeback, we may share relevant transaction details and communication records with payment processors, banks, and dispute-resolution networks as needed to respond and to protect the Service from fraud.
Creators are users who create a Creator profile to collect support. When you create a Creator profile, you may provide:
Kreosus may also provide a creator Support Module that can be embedded on external websites. If you choose to use it, you provide information used by the module (for example a title, description, and an FAQ link). The module may use cookies or similar technologies to function properly.
To receive payouts, Creators must provide payout and tax-related information. Depending on your location and payout method, this may include:
We or our payment partners may also request verification information (such as a government-issued ID or business registration documents) where required for payouts, fraud prevention, or compliance.
When you use Kreosus, we automatically collect certain technical and usage information, which may include:
We use this information to operate the Service, improve performance, debug issues, and protect Kreosus and its users from abuse and fraud.
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. There is no consistent industry standard for how to interpret DNT signals. Because of that, Kreosus does not currently respond to DNT signals.
Third-party analytics providers may still collect information about your activity on Kreosus through cookies and similar technologies, and they may combine it with information collected over time or across other websites, depending on their own policies and your browser settings.
Cookies are small text files placed on your device. Kreosus uses cookies and similar technologies for several reasons:
We use a first-party cookie that helps us recognize your session and account. We may also use third-party analytics tools that set their own cookies. Currently, we may use services such as Google Analytics.
If you would like to opt out of Google Analytics tracking, you can use the Google Analytics Opt-Out browser add-on by clicking here.
You can usually remove or block cookies through your browser settings. If you block cookies, some parts of Kreosus may not function properly.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We use your information for purposes such as:
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or another region with similar laws, we process personal data under one or more legal bases, including: performing a contract (providing the Service), legitimate interests (security and product improvement), consent (where required, such as certain marketing or cookie use), and compliance with legal obligations.
We may send you updates about Kreosus features or occasional promotional emails. Where required by law, we will ask for consent. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us.
If you are a Supporter, we share certain information with the Creator(s) you support so they can run their Creator page. This may include:
We do not share your full payment card number or security code with Creators.
Important: Creators are independent parties. Once a Creator receives your information, their own privacy practices apply to how they use and store it. You should only support Creators you trust. If a Creator offers physical rewards and you choose to provide a shipping address or other delivery details, that information will be shared with the Creator so they can fulfill the reward.
Personally Identifiable Information (PII) generally means information that can identify you, such as your name, email address, or address. We share PII only in limited cases, including:
We may also share non-identifying or aggregated information (for example usage statistics) that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
Some information on Kreosus may be visible to the public (anyone on the internet), depending on how you use the Service and your settings. This may include:
Please remember that public information can be indexed by search engines and copied by others.
Kreosus is built around public Creator pages, but you still have choices. Depending on the features available, you may be able to:
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can request help by contacting us at [email protected].
If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also have the right to withdraw consent (where we rely on consent), and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under California privacy laws (including the right to know, delete, and correct certain personal information). We do not sell your personal information. If we ever introduce functionality that would be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under applicable law, we will update this policy and provide required choices.
We keep personal data only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. In practice, we may retain certain information (especially transaction, payout, and compliance records) for up to 10 years after account closure to meet legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution obligations. We may retain some information longer if required by law, or shorter where appropriate.
Kreosus is operated by TREE OF EVOLUTION LLC and is based in the United States. If you use Kreosus, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate.
When laws like the GDPR apply, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers where required, which may include Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
We may use your information to communicate about products, services, and features that may interest you. Where required by law (for example in parts of the EEA/UK), we will ask for consent for certain marketing and cookie-related processing. You can refuse or withdraw consent without being charged a fee for doing so. Some core Service features still require certain essential processing (for example account login and payment processing).
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures may include access controls, monitoring, and encryption in transit where appropriate. We do not store full payment card numbers on our own servers.
Even with safeguards, no online service can guarantee 100% security. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at [email protected].
Kreosus is not designed for children. You must be at least 15 years old to create an account. If you are 15 to 17 years old, paid features require parent or guardian permission as described in our Terms of Service.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 15. If you believe a child under 15 has provided personal data to us, please contact us at [email protected] so we can take appropriate action.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes we consider material, we will provide notice (for example by email or within the Service) before the updated policy takes effect.
By continuing to use Kreosus after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective, you agree to the updated policy.
