Kreosus is a creator-focused sustainability and crowdfunding platform built by Tree of Evolution LLC, a Texas-based company with roots in Turkey.
The quote "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." is often attributed to Confucius, but there is no reliable evidence that he actually said it. Even so, we strongly believe in the idea behind it. Today, many people are pushed toward jobs that seem easier to monetize, even when they have little interest in them. We believe people should be able to build careers around work they genuinely care about. At the same time, we are realistic: most people still need income to keep doing that work. That is why we built Kreosus, a system that brings creators and the people who enjoy their work together. When supporters contribute financially, creators can keep producing and sharing more of their best work with the world.
If you are a content creator (for example, if you create music, films, posts, articles, art, philosophy, journalism, science, poems, and more), you can use Kreosus to earn support from your audience and create more. This support may or may not fully replace other income, but it can be a real step toward turning your passion into your work.
If you enjoy following the work that creative and curious minds produce, you can support them through their Kreosus profiles and help them make more of what you love. Support from an audience also gives creators more time and resources, which often means higher-quality work.
In short, if you value the intellectual output of humanity, such as science, art, literature, or philosophy, and you believe creators deserve sustainable support, Kreosus is built for you.
Kreosus (also written as Creosus) combines two Latin roots: creo, meaning "I create", and sustineo, meaning "I sustain" or "I support". Together, the name points to sustaining creation. There is also a fun historical coincidence: Kreosus is mainly built by people with Turkish roots and people who love Turkey. Turkey sits on Anatolia, a region that bridges Asia and Europe and has been home to many civilizations. If you write the name as "Creosus" and swap the letters "e" and "o", you get "Croesus", the legendary king of Lydia (c. 560-546 BC). Lydia was an Iron Age kingdom in western Asia Minor, in what is now western Turkey (including areas around today's Uşak, Manisa, and İzmir). Croesus is famous for his wealth and is often credited with issuing some of the earliest standardized gold coins, minted in the Lydian capital Sardis (near modern-day Manisa). We do not have kings like Croesus today, but we believe the collective power of people is stronger than any king. Kreosus is built to turn that potential into reality.
You can browse and discover new creators on Kreosus and support them financially in a way that fits your budget. You can support them once, or through a monthly subscription. Either way, your support helps creators keep creating sustainably.
You can create a Kreosus creator account and allow your followers to support you financially so you can keep creating what you love.
If you choose to support a creator monthly (subscription option), your card is charged immediately when you become a supporter, no matter which day of the month you start. After that, your card is charged on the 1st day of every month. If the charge fails on the 1st, we retry on the 9th. If it fails again, we make a final retry on the 16th. As soon as a payment succeeds, we stop retrying for that month. If all three attempts fail, that month is treated as unpaid and the process starts again next month. If your card fails for three months in a row, your pledge is automatically cancelled. Of course, you can cancel your pledge at any time.
If you choose to support a creator one-time, your card is charged only once. This charge will not repeat.
You can switch between monthly subscriptions and one-time pledges, change your monthly tier (increase or decrease), add an extra one-time contribution on top of a subscription, or cancel your monthly subscription at any time.
Crowdfunding is simple, but powerful: maybe 1 supporter may not be able to pledge you $1,000 per month, but 1,000 supporters can pledge you $1 per month. Crowdfunding makes it possible for a large group of people to support a project together. To give a bit more context, it helps to think about two common types of crowdfunding platforms:
Project-Based Crowdfunding: These are often considered "first-generation" crowdfunding platforms. Common examples include: Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and GoFundMe. In these systems, there is a product idea (for example, a new drone or a new board game), a project (for example, a new website), or a goal (for example, funding a world tour or medical treatment). The person behind the idea needs financial support to make it real.
Crowdfunding for Creators: These are often called "second-generation" crowdfunding platforms, and a well-known example is Patreon. A lot of online content (blog posts, videos, podcasts, photos, and more) is created by independent creators. Ads can help, but ad markets and platform policies change, which can make income unpredictable. Creator crowdfunding lets audiences support the creators they enjoy directly.
Kreosus is a second-generation creator crowdfunding platform through which you can support creators within your budget, either one-time or monthly.
Yes! In the Kreosus Support Module that you see on creators' websites or Kreosus profiles, you can choose the "One-Time" option to support a creator once. You can come back and support them again at any time. This gives you full control over when and how much you pledge. You can also switch to a monthly subscription whenever you want.
Kreosus exists to help creators build sustainable support from a community without putting pressure on any single person. In many cases, a smaller monthly subscription (for example, $10-$20 per month) is more sustainable for creators than a large one-time pledge.
Still, if one-time support works better for you, our system fully supports that too.
No! In addition to credit cards, you can also use debit cards and virtual cards. Please keep in mind these two common issues:
We support major card networks, including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Depending on your location, you may also be able to use JCB, UnionPay, Discover, or Diners Club. Apple Pay and Google Pay are also supported where available.
Yes! You can create multiple creator accounts using a single Kreosus account.
What happens if your card is declined depends on the type of support:
If the supporter is a one-time supporter and the card is declined, an error message is shown immediately so they can try again with a different card. There are no automatic retries for a one-time payment.
If the supporter is a monthly subscriber and the card is declined, the supporter remains listed as a subscriber while we retry the payment. If the first attempt fails, an error message is shown. We then retry on the 9th and the 16th of the month. If all attempts fail for that month, the month is treated as unpaid and we try again the next month. If the card fails for three months in a row, the subscription is automatically cancelled.
All support (both one-time and monthly) pledged to each creator is collected by Kreosus and tracked separately per creator, so funds are not mixed.
Kreosus works with Stripe, a leading payment processor. Stripe's standard online card fee starts at 2.9% + $0.30 per successful card charge for domestic cards, and additional fees may apply depending on card type, country, and whether currency conversion is required. You can find Stripe's current fees by clicking here.
Stripe processes the card charge and may apply currency conversion depending on the payment currency, your account settings, and the supporter's location. If conversion is required, Stripe applies its own exchange rate and may charge additional conversion fees. If you want to compare reference exchange rates, you can check sources such as Open Exchange Rates.
Stripe sends processed amounts to the JPMorgan Chase Bank account of Tree of Evolution LLC, the parent company of Kreosus. Stripe typically does not charge an additional fee for standard payouts to a bank account.
Kreosus has a tiered platform fee structure designed to treat both small and large creators fairly. Your specific tier depends on the currency of your account.
For US Dollars (USD)
For Turkish Lira (TRY)
All other currencies are converted to USD and follow the USD tier system.
Important Notes:
From there, payouts depend on the method you choose. Currently, we offer the following options:
Yes! We take security and privacy seriously, and we work diligently to protect your data. Payments are processed by Stripe, and we do not store your full credit card details on our servers. You can also check our domain reputation using third-party tools such as VirusTotal. To date, Kreosus has had no known security incidents; however, no online service can promise zero risk in the future. We continuously monitor and improve our security. As stated in our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, we do not sell your personal data to third parties.
The fastest way to solve this is to contact your bank and ask why the charge is being rejected. Some banks block online or international charges by default, especially for merchants they do not recognize. This usually takes only a few minutes, depending on your bank. Other common reasons for declines include:
If you are using a virtual credit card, the card may have expired. Update your virtual card details and re-enter them on Kreosus.
Virtual cards often have low balances or strict spending limits. If you are a monthly subscriber using a virtual card, remember to refresh its balance and limits each month to prevent declines.
You may have entered your card information incorrectly. Please update your details and try again.
If you live outside the U.S., your card may be blocked for international payments. Ask your bank to enable international online payments for your card.
You can change your pledge amount at any time! After signing in to your Kreosus account, go to the My Subscriptions page and click the "Update Support Amount" button. You can select a tier from the dropdown menu or enter a custom amount, then click "Update" to finalize the change.
Yes, you can cancel your monthly subscriptions at any time! After signing in to your Kreosus account, go to the My Subscriptions page and cancel your subscription from the list of creators you are supporting.
Refund requests are handled case by case. In principle, we can only refund a pledge within the first 5 days after the payment is made. After that, you can cancel your pledge so it does not repeat next month. Please note that Stripe's processing fees from the original transaction are not refunded.
