Welcome to Kreosus!

Kreosus is a sustainable crowdfunding platform that brings content creators together with their audience who are willing to support their creations. During this flow of monetary support, privacy is of paramount importance to us; therefore, we would like to share what we do to protect your privacy.

We would like to remind you that all parties who use Kreosus are bound by the rules set forth by our Terms of Use and this Privacy Policy is a part of those Terms of Use.

Information You Share with Us

This section covers the information you give to us by using the website/interface of Kreosus by filling text boxes. These include but are not limited to your name, your payment information, your creator profile information, your goals. The information we need to collect may change based on how you use Kreosus. For instance, you can use Kreosus without creating a creator profile. In this case, we will not require you to fill information regarding a creator profile.

All Accounts

We require you to fill the following 3 information to open an account on Kreosus:

Your full name
Your e-mail address
Your password

Furthermore, you may register to Kreosus using your Facebook, Twitter, Google, and/or your LinkedIn accounts. If you choose to open an account using any of these external websites, we only access to your full name from that social media account. You may end the link between Kreosus and your social media account at any time and thus, you may prevent us from accessing your name information.

After you enter the above-mentioned basic profile information, you may enter further information about yourself. This is optional. This information may include a personal bio section, links to your social media profiles, a profile picture, and so on. All of this information are stored in our databases.

Supporters

Supporters is a collective term we use for those who create an account on Kreosus, even if they have not chosen to pledge to any creator at a given moment. If you choose to support any creator on Kreosus, you will have to use your credit card or debit card information.

All card processes on Kreosus are handled by Stripe. We require you to enter your credit or debit card number, your full name, your CVC (security) code, and the expiration date of your card if you decide to support a creator. During the transaction process, Stripe gives us a token that represents your account. This token stores all your card information (only the last 4 digits of your credit card information), as well as what type of card it is (credit or debit). The token transfers the information to Stripe servers. By using Kreosus, you agree to the Privacy Policy of Stripe.

As Kreosus, we only store information related to the amount of support, which creator(s) you support and how you choose to support them (one-time or monthly). Your card information is not stored in our servers at any time.

Content Creators (Creators)

A person who wants to collect support from their audience or from a general audience is required to register a creator account. In order to create a creator account, you have to open a profile that reflects information such as the types of content you create, a profile picture, the types of content you create, the category or categories you fit in, an e-mail address, your goals, the pledge tiers you recommend to your supporters, why you think people should support you, etc.

While creating a creator account, aside from the above-mentioned information, we require you to enter information related to what is called a Kreosus Support Module. This is a module that can be embedded to any website or blog, which allows a creator to collect support directly from their website. In order to embed this module to any website, we provide an HTML code that is based on an iframe. A creator is required to fill in the information that will be used on this module. This information includes sections such as a title, a description, and a link to an FAQ page.

Additionally, you may enter information related to your social media profiles. All of these information are stored in our databases.

Finally, as a creator, for us to be able to pay you your balance, you are required to enter your bank or digital payment system information, as well as tax information for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) of the USA. This includes:

Legal name
Address
Country of residence
Birth date
IBAN
Information required to fill a W-9, W8-BEN, or W8-BEN-E forms supplied by the IRS.

Information We Collect

While you spend time on Kreosus, we use third party analytical tools to collect some information. These include but are not limited to the type of device, browser type, IP address, device identity information, Kreosus pages you access or try to access, links you click on, the website you came from, your interactions with other users, and your search queries. Additionally, we use your IP address to approximate your locations at the level of city and country.

Do Not Follow

Kreosus currently does not support Do Not Follow request. Therefore, our third party analytics partners may combine your Kreosus activity with your activity on other websites.

Cookies

On Kreosus, we use a cookie that stores your unique ID. Additionally, third party analytical tools may use cookies on our website. Currently, we work with Google Analytics.

How Do We Use Your Information?

We promise not to sell your information for profit to anybody. We use your information as follows:

Provide you services related to Kreosus,
Allow you to login to your account,
Allow you to support creators on Kreosus,
Allow you to collect support from supporters,
Depending on your use, transmit relevant e-mails to you,
Answer your questions,
Determine how you use Kreosus to develop solutions for you and provide novel features that we think you will like,
Create new tools for our creators to increase their interactions with their supporters,
Understand how you use Kreosus to build better tools and improve Kreosus in terms of research and development,
Prevent fraud and bullying on Kreosus.

Information We Share with Creators

If you are a supporter, we share the following information with our creators:

Your e-mail address and your basic profile information (such as your name),
If you use Kreosus to communicate with creators, all the messages you send to a particular creator,
Information related to your pledge tier and the type of support, including the start date (we never share your card information),
Some anonymous information that cannot be traced back to you.

Information We Share with Third Parties

Your name, your e-mail address, your address or any information that can be used to trace back to you with reasonable effort are considered Personally Identifiable Information (PII). We share this type of information only in the following cases:

Contracted third party companies that help us fight with fraud (these companies are forced to protect your PII by contract),
If we believe that a legal requirement has arisen, we will share information with government officials to protect Kreosus, its users, its administrators, and its employees. (we will duly notify you if this happens),
If a commercial sale, take-over, bankruptcy, sale of assets, re-organization of our company is required. If the possibility of another company accessing your PII arises, we will duly notify you about the new contract details and what will change for you and your Kreosus use.

Information We Share Publicly

The following information can be accessed by anyone on the Internet:

Your profile information, your social media links, any other information that you choose to share publicly,
Names of the creators you support (you can stay anonymous about this, if you choose to do so)
Anonymized information such as analytical data reflecting the use of Kreosus.

Your Preferences and Your Rights About Your Data

Choosing Preferences
Since Kreosus makes a minimal amount of information public, we do not provide any privacy options to our supporters or creators.

Using Your Data Rights
You can use your rights on your data in the following ways:

Change Your Account Information: You can edit your profile and change the information stored.
Understand Data Storage Durations: Kreosus will store your data for up to 10 years, even after you close your account.

EU Data Transfer

Data Transfer to the US
Kreosus is a product of Tree of Evolution LLC and is based in the USA. By using Kreosus, you allow your data to be transferred to the USA and you allow your data to be processed within the borders of the US. Regardless of the country that your data is processed, your data will be protected by this Privacy Policy.

Commercial Activity
We may use your information to offer you products and services that we think you may be interested. If you are within the European Economic Region, we will collect your data and ask for your permission to obtain your data within the scope of the law. If you wish, you may reject data collection and the use of your data free of charge.

Security

The security of your private information is of paramount importance to us. Therefore, we give the utmost attention to details to protect your data. For example, none of your credit card information is stored on our databases. Any data that we store in our database is double-encrypted for security.

Children

Kreosus is not a website designed for the consumption of children. One must be at least 15 years old to create an account on Kreosus and use the services of Kreosus.

Changes

We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time. If we believe that our changes will impact you negatively, we will contact you via e-mail. Once these changes are in place, by continuing using Kreosus, you are agreeing to reading, understanding, and accepting the new policies.
